Union Special Bread // Sweet + Salt: A Bakery Pop-Up Series at The Durham

Popping up in Durham for one morning only — Andrew Ullom brings his pastries and breads from Union Special Bread in Raleigh to the Coffee Shop at The Durham. Formerly the executive pastry chef for Ashley Christensen’s restaurants, Andrew and team create sweet and savory pastries with inventive flavor combos and sourdough breads made with locally-milled flour and a single whole-wheat natural sponge. Pair your treats with Counter Culture Coffee, fresh-squeezed juices, and teas from the Coffee Shop. The Pop-up schedule includes: Union Special Bread (This weekend); Handy + Hot (January 25th); Boulted Bread (February 8th); Bonjour, Y’all (February 29th); and Phoebe Lawless & Snack Service (March 21st). Sensory Saturday

Join CAM Raleigh for Sensory Saturday – a sensory friendly museum experience in a quiet and structured setting two hours before the museum opens. Experience “Viva Viclas: The Art of the Lowrider Motorcycle” and all of CAM’s latest exhibitions. Tactile tours including one motorcycle you can sit on and touch! Make-and-take art projects in the Creation Station inspired by the exhibitions on view. Sensory kit materials available for use. Mutts & Marshmallows

Back by popular demand for the 7th year, join in this fun run with friends and a big mug of hot chocolate! As always everyone who finishes the race gets a great mug, all the hot chocolate you can drink, and all dog entries go to support the SPCA of Wake County. There are four races to choose from! The signature event is the 5K Doggie Dash but there’s also a regular 5K, 8K, and 1 Mile fun run. The F&A Doggie Dash is also the first race of Fit & Able’s 2020 Free-for-All Race Series. Dog owners are welcome to run with their pups in the Doggie Dash! For only $10 per pup it will be happy trails for both runners and their dogs. The $10 dog fee goes to support the Wake County SPCA!
