Pumpkin Flotilla

Bring your carved pumpkin from 4 – 5:30 pm and join us for Bond Park’s Pumpkin Flotilla! Pumpkins will set sail across the Bond Park Lake at twilight (approximately 6:30 pm). Enjoy a discounted boat ride (available to those who enter a pumpkin or dress in appropriate Halloween costumes) and a snack from our concession stand while you wait to watch your pumpkin float on the lake. There will also be music and food! Your pumpkin should be approximately the size of a soccer ball and weighs about 8 pounds after it’s carved. All pumpkins must come with tops and be gutted and carved at home. Jack-o’-lanterns with artificial decorations cannot be accepted. A light and floating device will be provided when you register your jack-o’-lantern at the event. The designated drop-off area is near the Boathouse. Space in the flotilla is limited to 40 pumpkins. Undead will rise again for the 4th annual Zombiepalooza, featuring locally produced zombie short films shown on an outdoor screen downtown. This all-ages, family-friendly night of zombie cinema and cosplay takes place outside the Cary Theater. Dress as your favorite horror film character, or channel your inner zombie to win prizes. “The Dead Don’t Die” will screen free after the local films. Free; Friday, 7 pm; 122 E. Raleigh Zombie Walk 2019

The Annual Raleigh Zombie Walk will be calling the living dead once again this year. The Zombie herd will be invading the streets of downtown Raleigh. The Raleigh Zombie Walk is an annual flash mob meeting at dusk the Saturday before Halloween, in which the undead of all ages arrive in character and lurch their way along a set route in downtown Raleigh entertainingly frightening the living. The trek is around a mile long. After the event, enjoy a night downtown celebrating the holiday. Free; Saturday, 7 pm; Nash Square, Downtown Raleigh, NC

Fall Festi-BULL

The Durham Bulls are hosting a new-look Fall Festi-BULL, in association with White Claw. Join in a movie screening, costume contests, food trucks and hayrides. Come dressed as your favorite character and take part in a costume contest for a chance to win tickets to a 2020 Durham Bulls game. The contest will take place at approximately 6:30 pm on the first base line in right field. Wool E. Bull will hand pick the winners in three categories, including groups, couples and individuals for Best Costume, Most Creative and Spookiest Costume. A movie, chosen by fans via Durham Bulls social media accounts, will be shown on the Blue Monster video board in left field starting at 7 pm. Fans have the option to vote for Hotel Transylvania, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial or Casper. Bull City Street Food and other local food trucks will be on-hand, and White Claw and other refreshments will also be available. The Ballpark Corner Store will be hosting a rummage sale, with select items marked down as much as 50%. A portion of the proceeds from the rummage sale will benefit the United Way as part of the Durham Bulls and Capitol Broadcasting Company United Way Giving Campaign. Me Fine Gala

Come as a flapper or come as you are. Dress as a gangster or silent screen star. It’s the Roaring 20s at the Cotton Room! The Me Fine Gala is the Me Fine Foundation’s annual signature fundraiser, helping the organization fulfill its mission providing financial assistance and emotional support to families with children facing medical crisis at local children’s hospitals. The event has an evening of heavy hors d’oeuvres and an open bar, as well as opportunities to win unique experiences and one-of-a-kind items in the live and silent auction. Clouds Brewing Oktoberfest

It’s the best time of year again… Oktoberfest time! We’ll be hosting our annual Oktoberfest at our Front Street Taproom and we’re making it a weekend event. Join us on Saturday for beer, food trucks, stein holding contest, Little German Band, + giveaways, and on Sunday for our family-friendly day with petting zoo and bounce house for the kids. No ticket purchase necessary on Sunday! They’ve teamed up with Book Harvest again, so come with book donations instead.
