Dinner to benefit Ocracoke Seafood

Locals Seafood and Locals Oyster Bar are hosting a special four-course dinner benefiting Ocracoke Seafood. Ocracoke Seafood was badly damaged from Hurricane Dorian. Proceeds from this event will be donated to Ocracoke Foundation’s efforts to repair Ocracoke Seafood. In addition to the dinner, they’re running a special Ocracoke Platter until October 9th. The platter features fried fish, shrimp, hushpuppies, and slaw and is available all day. $10 from each platter sold will be donated to Ocracoke Foundation’s efforts to repair Ocracoke Seafood. This is a joint fundraising effort by Locals Oyster Bar and Locals Seafood. Wednesday, 5 – 10 pm; 500 E Davie St, Raleigh, NC 27601

Home is Distant Shores

This is a three day film festival features various films and directors who all focused their work on the subject of immigrant and refugee stories, voices, and perspectives. $17; Wednesday (also October 16th), 7 – 10:30 pm; 2110 Blue Ridge Rd, Raleigh, NC 27607
