Summer Daze Music Festival Vol. 2

Celebrate summer at the second annual Summer Daze Music Festival at Coastal Credit Union Midtown Park in North Hills, a celebration of music, local businesses, culture and, of course, summertime vibes. Free; Saturday, noon – 9 pm; 4011 Cardinal at North Hills St, Raleigh, NC 27607

Play Moore Music Festival

The Play Moore Music Festival is a celebration of Hip-Hop culture through music and dance on Aug. 17 from 3 to 9 p.m. This year’s festival will turn Moore Square into a classic block party by highlighting the DJ. Main stage performers include national acts Rich Medina and DJ Lindsey. Local acts Napoleon Wright II, Oak City Slums, Brassiousmonk, Micky Slicks, Raleigh Rockers and Lacewell will also grace the stage. Graffiti writers, breakers, and vendors will also fill the square. Hops & Blues Festival

Join in an evening full of great beer and awesome music. The Glass Jug Beer Lab has partnered up with Music Maker Relief Foundation to bring in some of the most talented NC blues musicians to rock the beer garden, and 10 of the best IPA and hop-centric breweries are going to be serving unlimited samples of their best hoppy beers for this exclusive event. Woody’s Sweet 16 Birthday Bash

Celebrate 16 years of being Downtown Raleigh’s favorite neighborhood sports bar! 14th annual O’Neill/Sweetwater Pro-Am Surf Fest

One of the largest surf contests on the East Coast – the 14th annual O’Neill/Sweetwater Pro-Am Surf Fest attracts 200 professionals and amateurs from Florida to Rhode Island, with some of the pros flying in from California, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, and Hawaii. Adding to the excitement of the first-rate shortboard and longboard competition in 2019 is the addition of extreme surfing with the Red Bull Tow-At. O’Neill/Sweetwater also presents Saturday’s Music and Art Fest in the park, combining local musicians, arts, crafts, and family activities. Proceeds benefit the nonprofits Hope from Helen and the Surf Club at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. National Honey Bee Day Celebration

Join Beekeepers of the Neuse as they celebrate National Honey Bee Day. Learn about honey bees and beekeeping. See how honey is extracted, check out beekeeping equipment, make your own natural beeswax candle, and find the queen in a living honey bee observation hive. Children’s activities include arts and crafts, temporary tattoos and games. Members of the Beekeepers of the Neuse will answer your honey bee and beekeeping questions. Master Gardeners will be on hand to discuss how you can help the survival of the honey bee. Local, raw honey will be available for sale. Enjoy live music, farm equipment and food vendors. Join North Carolina brewers at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences for our sixth annual Natural Selections event. This evening of beer and science will have you sample unique creations from more than 20 North Carolina breweries. Enjoy hands-on science of beer activities, games and live music. Dîner en Blanc is where you don an all-white outfit and join in a pop-up style, outdoor dinner party in a secret location. Crank for a Cause

Come out and help support Raleigh’s favorite bicycle advocacy non profit, Oaks and Spokes, at Crank Arm’s annual fundraiser Crank for a Cause! Their mission is to foster the bicycle community in Raleigh, and make it a safe and accessible place for everyone to ride a bike. You compete by racking up as many miles as you can on spin bikes to win prizes. You can compete as individuals or as a team with a max of four members per team. You can ride for 10 minutes at a time, but you can ride as many times as you want. The tournament is split into two segments: 12 – 3 pm and 3 – 6 pm. Tournament and raffle prize winners are announced at the end of each segment. Prizes will be awarded to one individual and one team at the end of each segment. The first 50 to check-in will get a free REI water bottle. You can also buy as many raffle tickets as you want to increase your chances of winning something awesome! Must be present to win. Raleigh Warehouse District Scavenger Hunt

Arrive at Tasty Beverage Company, a local institution of beer, to begin your adventure! After an initial welcome, the stage will be set for your treasure hunt experience! Embark on a thrilling scavenger hunt around the Warehouse District of downtown Raleigh where you will search for clues, solve puzzles, and crack codes to unlock the treasure chest that awaits at Tasty and reveal the prize inside. The hunt will take you to some of the most historical, artistic, and unique locations around the downtown area. This rain or shine event will take between 60 and 90 minutes. Yoga in the Park

Join in an evening of Hatha Flow Yoga at Fletcher Park in conjunction with our free summer concert series!
