This non-timed 1K fun run and everyone must wear unaltered “thong” flip flops! The current Guinness World Record is 1587! You must be at Bond Brothers Beer Company by 10:30am. Included in your registration is a race shirt which MUST BE WORN DURING THE RUN. If you are not wearing thong (unaltered) sandals, you will not be able to participate. Our record was broken by a group in Arizona and we need your help to get it back. The current Guinness World Record is 1,587 participants. If you can walk a 1K in flip flops, you can join us! Hear, see, eat, and drink local at Live & Local Spring Fest 2019! This festival is a free community festival presented by Artsplosure in partnership with Live It Up! Hillsborough Street. This spring celebration is your chance to join your community in celebrating the unique art, music, food and beer of North Carolina. Come out to Hillsborough Street on June 8 for an afternoon of performances on the Live & Local Main Stage, a Kid’s Zone with performances and craft activities for the youngest members of our community, as well as a food truck rodeo and craft beers from our friends at Raleigh Brewing. Food trucks will line Academy Street to serve their regular menu, along with at least two new dishes featuring a southern delicacy: pimento cheese! Enjoy live music at the Downtown Park, grab a drink from local breweries, and taste some of the best pimento cheese samples from local restaurants.
