Meet in the Street Festival

A day filled with food, fun and entertainment in historic downtown Wake Forest for more than 35 years running, Meet in the Street pulls together all-day live music plus an additional stage of entertainment with dancers, martial arts, magicians and more. 5th Annual Midtown Music Fest

Celebrating it’s 5th year, this all-day art and music festival welcomes Spring and the return of outdoor music to North Hills. Nestled on the beautiful lawn at Coastal Credit Union Midtown Park, Midtown Music Fest features a mix of original music and fan favorite covers from artists both nationally and locally known. The festival also features local craft beer & beverages, popular food trucks, hip hop dancers, flame throwers, stilt walkers, custom LED teepees, flower crowns, and other artful activities, and a vendor village, too. Smithfield Ham and Yam Festival

What started as a food festival in 1985 has expanded to a weekend of fun, music, and a barbecue cook-off – attracting great cooks from throughout the area to compete for cash prizes. You will also find many varieties of hams and yams at the festival – barbecue plates from the cook-off, country ham biscuits, sweet potato fries, funnel cakes, ice cream, and desserts. Come hungry! Wander through the festival and visit booths occupied by face painters, local non-profit organizations, and vendors selling items including garden flags, handbags, pottery, handmade jewelry and many other arts and crafts. Fest in the West

Celebrate Cary’s rural past at the 4th annual Fest in the West festival! Hop on an antique tractor, have your photo taken dressed as a farmer, or compete in the annual blueberry pie-eating contest! Back by popular demand is the Triangle’s only Hillbilly Horseshoes contest in which contestants toss toilet seats as they try to score a ringer. Their Arts & Crafts Village will feature 35 artisans including a printmaker demonstrating his printing process and the Capital Area Quilting Guild demonstrating their craft on site. Four local breweries, including Cary-based USA Today’s #1 new brewery, Bond Brothers Beer Company, newcomer Jordan Lake Brewing, and English-style Fortnight Brewing will be pouring craft beers in The Aster Beer Garden. New this year is Durham Cidery, Naughty Penguin. The parking lot will feature a food truck rodeo with 10 trucks including Queso Monster, Qspresso, Gussy’s Greek and Alaina’s Bangin’ BBQ. Live music kicks off on the main stage at 11 am with Mysti Mayhem followed by The Blenders and Soule and the Soul Superstars round out the music. 39th Annual Apex PeakFest

Salem St. in historic downtown Apex comes alive with more than 20,000 visitors during PeakFest. For more than 30 years, the arts and crafts festival has brought families together for a day of fun, food and fellowship. The town of Apex’s largest annual event, PeakFest has all-day live music, all the arts and crafts you can imagine, entertainment for kids and food vendors that bring their best State Fair-style goodies. Gizmo Brew Works 6th Anniversary Party

Party and celebrate Gizmo Brew Works’ six year anniversary! There will be an anniversary beer release (Queen Bee, Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Honey Wheat!); four different bands throughout the day, five food trucks, and cask beers! Live Music will include 19 Miles from Davis, Outside The Beltline, Brian Jones & Chris Delusso and Red Sky Moon. Preparing to hold their ninth annual event in 2019, this inclusive and action-packed event draws nearly 50,000 people to celebrate the LGBT community and raise funds to support the LGBT Center of Raleigh. Garden Party and Rare Plant Auction at NCSU Arboretum

With spring in full bloom, the annual Garden Party and Rare Plant Auction is the Arboretum’s signature spring event. The afternoon is filled with tasty treats, local craft beer, wine, live entertainment, plus silent and live auctions. Rare and collectible plants will be picked up by the highest bidders, as well as a variety of exceptional plants for indoor, patio, or outdoor locations, including a selection of flowering perennials, flowering shrubs, and larger trees. Other items on the block include unique travel opportunities, dining experiences, and garden ornaments. The silent auction is mobile bidding. They will have people set up at stations to help with the app on your phone. This allows you to have fun at the party and still keep up with the fun of the changing status of your bids. The live auction is reserved for the rarest of the rare with lots of excitement and suspense. Proceeds from Garden Party and Rare Plant Auction will benefit daily operations of the JC Raulston Arboretum. Kentucky Derby Watch Party
