Mutts & Marshmallows

Support the Wake County SPCA and join in the 6th year of Mutts & Marshmallows. This fun run with friends ends with a big mug of hot chocolate! So, everyone who finishes the race gets a great mug, all the hot chocolate they can drink, and all dog entries go to support the SPCA of Wake County. There are 4 races to choose from! The signature event is the 5K Doggie Dash but there’s also a regular 5K, 8K, and 1 Mile fun run. The F&A Doggie Dash is also the first race of Fit & Able’s 2019 Free-for-All Race Series. Dog owners are welcome to run with their pups in the Doggie Dash! For only $10 per pup it will be happy trails for both runners and their dogs. and, the full $10 dog fee goes to support the Wake County SPCA! Saturday, check-in: 9 – 11:45 am, doggie dash: 10 am, 1 mile: 10:45, 5K & 8K: 11 am;

North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival

It’s your final chance to get to Cary’s Booth Amphitheater and see all the lights! The amphitheater has been transformed into a sea of lighted lantern sculptures. Through Sunday, 6 pm; 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary, NC 27518

Calabash Style Lobster Boil

RBG Calabash Style Lobster Boil has live music with the Autumn Nicholas band and a break the chill of January with warm food for your tastebuds and soul! This will be a ticketed event in their heated event tent. $35 (feeds 1-2 people; 4oz lobster tail, 4 oz of scallops, and a 1/2 pound of easy peel shrimp with corn and potatoes, 1 ticket for a New Belgium draft beer from the Airstream Bar), $100 (feeds 4-6 people; 3, 4oz lobster tails, 3/4 lbs of scallops, and a 1 & 1/2 lbs of easy peel shrimp with corn and potatoes, 4 tickets for a New Belgium draft beer from the Airstream Bar; Saturday, 3 – 7 pm; Raleigh Beer Garden, 614 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27603
