11th Annual St. Nicholas European Christmas Market
Join in this event to shop beautiful new and collectible gifts and decorative items from Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Czech/Slovakia, Scandinavia, and Ireland/British Isles. Look for folk art, hand-painted ornaments, Polish pottery, matroyshka dolls, Irish knit sweaters, cashmere scarves from Scotland, and lots more. Enjoy food and caroling Friday night and their Slavic lunch on Saturday from 11 am until it sells out,. Take home loads of Christmas speciality baked goods along with dozens of pierogi and pounds of kielbasa. Enjoy Fortnight Brewing beers and traditional mulled wine and desserts from Koehl’s Bakery. Locally Made Market
Locally Made Market, Cary’s premier pop up market, has all of your holiday shopping needs covered! This is their largest event and will host 50 of the most talented local artisans at the stunning Mayton Inn! They will also have fantastic local giveaways at the start and end of the event! 47th Historic Oakwood Candlelight Tour
One of Raleigh’s longest-held holiday traditions invites you on an intimate tour of Historic Oakwood residences during the 47th annual Historic Oakwood Candlelight Tour®. Homes featured in the tour date from late-1800’s to mid-1900’s, and range in style from Queen Anne cottages to Neoclassical Revival and Italianate residences. You will see a mix of holiday décor, either mirroring the home’s yesteryears or matching today’s modern lifestyle of the homeowners. Docents at each stop offer insider information such as the home’s unique features, the family lineage and surrounding community. Ticket holders are welcome to tour the properties at their own pace, typically allowing three to four hours to view all the featured homes and the neighborhood. The annual Historic Oakwood Candlelight Tour benefits the non-profit organization The Society for the Preservation of Historic Oakwood. Day-of tickets will be available at The Tucker House, 418 N. Durham Holiday Parade and Fun Fest
Catch the parade; Fun Fest activities (Blackwell Street between Morehead Ave and West Lakewood Ave); Peppermint Plunge, sledding for children and adults (sleds will be provided); two snow play areas; Santa Claus meet & greet; and a community care corner where you can decorate holiday cards for homebound individuals in our community. Saturday, 10 am, Fun Fest 1- 4 pm: Main St, Durham, NC 27701; parade: starts at the Health Department (Main and Dillard Streets) and end near Duke University East Campus (Main Street and Buchanan Boulevard).
