Drag Me to Whiskey
In partnership with Stonewall Sports, Whiskey Kitchen is hosting the restaurant’s first ever Drag Show during brunch. Proceeds benefit the LGBT Center of Raleigh. Four Queens will be featured during this special event and include Clymdya Byrnz, Ivory Winters, Emory Starr, and Host & MC Chloe Cassidy. Each Queen will conduct two performances and you are reminded to bring cash for tipping their favorite Queens! Wonderful Winter Time Oyster Roast
Join Motorco as they welcome Allagash Brewing of Portland, ME & Oysters Carolina of Harkers Island, NC for a Wonderful Winter Time Oyster Roast on the patio. They will be pouring tasters and glasses of several of Allagash’s fantastic brews including some special reserve barrels of Two Lights, made with Sauvignon Blanc & Champagne Yeast and Avance, an Oak Aged Strong Sour with Strawberries. Ryan Bethea’s farm, Oysters Carolina will be providing these fresh (harvested that morning) oysters grown on his farm off the waters of Harker’s Island. These deep cup award winning oysters are known as some of the saltiest in the state. They’ll be shucking these fine mollusks for you, raw, roasted or grilled. Rocky Mount Mills Tower Lighting
Join us as we count down to the start of the holidays with the inaugural Rocky Mount Mills Tower Lighting celebration, free and open to the public. We are excited to be a part of Capitol Broadcasting Company’s tradition this year as tower lighting traditions glows in both Raleigh at WRAL Studios and in Durham’s American Tobacco Campus. 14th Annual American Tobacco Tower Lighting
Join in as they countdown the start of the holidays with the annual American Tobacco Tower Lighting celebration. There is always a chance of snow, along with sensational community choral groups and other surprises (Santa)! The Downtown Raleigh Tree Lighting Celebration
Arrive early for dinner and socializing in downtown with family and friends, then make your way to the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts to enjoy some tasty snacks and beverages from local vendors, holiday music, and the opportunity to meet Santa Claus as he walks around the crowd meeting and greeting everyone. Make sure you bring your camera to take photos with Santa. Mayor Nancy McFarlane will then take the stage to light Downtown Raleigh’s tree that evening, and the tree lighting will be streamed live on ABC11 WTVD. Knightdale Christmas Tree Lighting
Write letters to Santa, visit with Mrs. Claus, take a train ride, enjoy entertainment, free goodies and hot chocolate. Then, come back on Saturday for the Christmas Parade. This annual event brings over a thousand people to view as local schools, non-profits, and businesses parade their floats, bands, and other decorated pieces down 1st Avenue. Friday, 6 pm, parade: Saturday, 2 pm; 810 First Ave, Knightdale, NC 27545

Christmas on Salem Street
Christmas on Salem Street will be celebrated in Downtown Apex. On Friday night, the festivities include the official annual Apex Christmas tree lighting, caroling, sleigh rides and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to greet children. There will be merry making all up and down Salem Street, the stores will be packed with goodies and gifts that will make for a wonderful magical Christmas in Apex. On Saturday night, the annual Apex Rotary Christmas parade will be held at 5 pm. On Sunday, the Apex Historical Society will once again offer historic homes tours. Hi-Wire Brewing Durham Taproom and Warehouse Artist Studios Grand Opening
Hi-Wire Brewing and the Golden Belt Warehouse Artist Studios will be holding their Grand Opening Party at the Golden Belt Campus in Durham, NC. The celebration includes: 25 artists, food trucks, ferris wheel, jugglers, aerialists, high striker, live music by funk band Lotus Sun starting at 6:30 pm; and 40 different Hi-Wire brews including flagships, specialities, and sour and wild ales. Art with a Purpose
For the past three years, VAE has partnered with students from Enloe High School to support their annual Charity Ball. Boylan Heights ArtWalk
Boylan Heights will once again celebrate the arts and the holiday season with its 26th annual ArtWalk. This historic downtown Raleigh neighborhood brings outstanding artists from across the region and beyond to display their works on porches and lawns in a distinctly unique setting. Studios in the neighborhood will feature well-known artist like Gale Stout Lowery and Gerry Lynch. Neighborhood children are given their own opportunity to exhibit their creativity as there is even a children’s collective (called Funky Chicken) showing that artists come in all ages. There will be more than 130 artists displaying their work, featuring a broad range of disciplines including pottery, jewelry, prints, oils, watercolor, photography and much more.
