77th Annual NC Gourd Arts & Crafts Festival
Check out all things gourds at this total fall festival! The N.C. Gourd Society’s annual event features displays of gourds from around the world, gourd crafting classes, make-and-take crafts and vendors of dried gourds, gourd seeds, gourd crafts, gourd art, books, T-shirts and crafting supplies. The event, held at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds, also includes a silent auction, a free gourd crafting table for kids and free talks on how to grow gourds. North Carolina Whirligig Festival
Wilson, N.C. hosts its 14th annual North Carolina Whirligig Festival in Historic Downtown Wilson. The popular community arts festival, which attracts more than 60,000, happens annually the first weekend in November in celebration of the arts, specifically the whimsical, wind-driven whirligigs (giant sculptures made from recycled industrial parts by local folk-artist Vollis Simpson). This year’s festival footprint is expanded to encompass the new Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park, which opened last November to considerable fanfare. Día de los Muertos at Neuse River Brewing Company
Join in the  4th Annual Dia de los Muertos party! 8th Annual Durham Oktoberfest

Durham Central Park’s Food Truck Rodeo
This is the final one of 2018! A Durham Central Park Food Truck Rodeo is an all-ages Sunday afternoon gathering of dozens of the Triangle’s most popular food trucks, five times each year. Chow down on eat from the trucks’ menus–from savory and stick-to-your-ribs to sweet treats. Featured band: the Triangle’s very own Niito! Recommended for fans of music that blurs the lines between R&B, Soul, Funk, Jazz and Blues. Guest trucks have included included American Meltdown, MaMa Dukes, Pie Pushers, Porchetta, Chez Moi Bakery and OnlyBurger. Locally-brewed craft beer and a band are always on hand. City of Oaks Marathon
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina City of Oaks Marathon, Presented by WRAL Each course has been designed to showcase many of the focal points of the City of Raleigh, including Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh, the State Capitol Building, the Glenwood South restaurant district, Meredith College, NC State University, and the NC State University Bell Tower. Each course highlights the diversity of Raleigh’s landscape, from modern city to wooded trails with a streamed setting. Marathon runners will be treated to a run on the Capital Area Greenway system. The City of Oaks race has a distance option for any runner!
