NACE Cares: Bites and Pints
Hosted by the Triangle’s local chapter of NACE (National association of catering and events), this fundraiser benefits the US Veterans Corp. Bites & Pints Challenge brings together 16 chefs to compete on bite sized food paired with local beers and you get to vote on your favorites! Not only is the entire night a competition, but there is also a silent auction filled with goodies from all over the Triangle, like hotel stays & restaurant certificates. Skywatching at The Durham Hotel
The Durham Hotel, Morehead Planetarium and Science Center and Innovate Your Cool Conference come together to host a telescopic stargazing nights. Stump! Trivia
Kings Dining & Entertainment offers Stump! Trivia every Monday night in the Lounge! Come see why they were voted “Best Trivia in the Triangle” by the readers of the INDYWeek! Join your host, Trivia Jockey Jason, as he offers up fun and challenging trivia questions for players of all levels. YogaFest Durham 2018
YogaFest Durham, a series of eight outdoor, Tuesday evening classes. Beginners and experienced yogis join in to unwind, meet neighbors and enjoy the benefits of yoga. Some loaner yoga mats available and snacks are provided from Neomonde Mediterranean after class. Yoga teachers from the Durham area will offer an engaging experience that the community can enjoy, ranging in styles, but for all levels and all bodies. Kingfisher On The Fly! A Pop-Up Bar w/ Durham Distillery
Be one of the first to try the signature cocktails that Sean Umstead will be featuring at he and his wife’s, Michelle Vanderwalker, upcoming Durham bar, Kingfisher. Expect cocktails with farm-to-table produce from nearby farms. Sean Umstead, one of North Carolina’s most imaginative bar experts and the creative force behind the soon-to-open Kingfisher, announces his Kingfisher Pop-Up Series to precede the bar opening in late 2018. Kingfisher, which will be located next to The Durham Hotel and will kick off its first pop-up this week, Look for Umstead’s signature cocktails celebrating the season, highlighting his farm-to-cocktail approach using fresh and skillfully preserved fruits and produce from nearby farms. Pickin’ in the Pines
Wednesdays this fall just got a whole lot more fun with the return of Pickin’ In The Pines at Cary’s Booth Amphitheatre. Shows will take place on Wednesday evenings in August and September and feature local and regional talent. The Music will take place on the spacious Crescent Deck, a casual and comfortable environment to enjoy a mid-week outing with friends. Buy all five concerts for $20. Picnics allowed (no alcohol).
