Jam In The Trees
Jam In The Trees is an annual music festival in western North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, just outside of Asheville. While 2018 is only the third year since inception, the festival was nominated for the International Bluegrass Music Association’s prestigious Momentum Awardin 2017 and was named a top festival pick by Blue Ridge Outdoors in 2018. The festival offers a complimentary shuttle service between the festival venue, Pisgah Brewing Company, and downtown Asheville, nearby hotels, and campgrounds, for safe and easy travel. A portion of the festival’s proceeds go to charity each year and 2018 is sponsored by Mosaic RealtyCackalacky, and Mast General Store. Jam In The Trees’ 2018 lineup includes The Travelin’ McCourys, Jerry Douglas, Shooter Jennings, Elizabeth Cook, Gangstagrass, and Jim Lauderdale, The Steel Wheels, The Stray Birds, Fireside Collective, The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys, The Slocan Ramblers, Jane Kramer, and Andy Buckner. The beloved After Hours Jam will also take place Saturday night on the indoor stage. Hosts Jim Lauderdale and The Po’ Ramblin Boys will invite special guests on stage, giving you a chance to experience rare on-stage collaborations. In addition to a two-day lineup, enjoy award-winning Pisgah beer and on-site food trucks, as well as unique vendors and local artisans, including a barbeque sauce tasting station from North Carolina’s Cackalacky. This year’s VIP experience includes a guided brewery tour and tasting, and meet & greets with headliners Elizabeth Cook, Jim Lauderdale, Jerry Douglas, and The Travelin’ McCourys. Be Loud! ’18
The fifth annual concert supporting the underserved adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer population, featuring influential bands from the 1980s to today. The concert benefits the Be Loud! Sophie Foundation, whose mission is to support adolescent and young adult cancer patients and their families at UNC Lineberger. The foundation honors the memory of Sophie Steiner, a Chapel Hill teenager who died of cancer in 2013, and was founded by her parents, Niklaus and Lucy Steiner. A Pop of Music- Summer Concert Series at Village Draft House
Join at Cameron Village for a Pop of Music! Their Summer Concert Series kicks off Sunday at Village Draft House! Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival
For more than 40 years, the Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival has put local artists and craftsmakers in the spotlight. Today, the festival has grown to two days, features more than 300 artists from 16 states, has multiple stages of live music, a beer garden and plenty of food trucks to keep everyone happy. Packapalooza
This annual all-day block party and street festival caps off North Carolina State University’s Wolfpack Welcome Week at the start of another academic year. The event features more than 300 vendor booths lining Hillsborough Street, along with food, games, arts and crafts, a water slide (bring your bathing suit), visual and performing arts and more. Monster Drawing Rally
At this live drawing event/fundraiser, 75 artists at all stages of their careers take shifts to draw in front of a live audience. As spectators spy on the creative process, sketches morph into full-fledged works of art. Finished drawings are immediately available for $50 each.
