Views from The Durham
Join on the roof for a series of telescopic stargazing nights hosted by Morehead Planetarium and Science Center and Innovate Your Cool Conference. Stop by for guided constellation tours, music from DJ Mic Check, and celestial cocktail creations from the bar. Tonight, check out views of Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, concluding with the magnified red glow of Mars. Beer + Burger Night Tuesdays at Brix

Kaikagetsu NYC Opens
From Japan’s well-known restaurant group, Forrest Fooding, Inc., Kaikagetsu NYC opens up.  A project by long-time friends, Creative Director Tomoyuki Iwanami and restauranteur Yasuo Shigeta, Kaikagetsu has opened New York’s Lower East Side. Kaikagetsu NYC features traditional Japanese dishes taking influence from the Hida region of Japan. For Kaikagetsu NYC, the team has assembled three of its’ top international Chef’s to helm the menu including head chef Tatsuya Ishizaki, Masayoshi Onishi and Sumiko Ono. All have trained extensively throughout Japan and share a lifetime of experience. They have worked to assemble an all-star menu that showcases culinary items that they have perfected throughout their careers. Popular fine dining entrees incorporate traditional Hida elements and dishes including the world renowned Hida Beef and a focus on Dashi (Japanese broths). Summer Concert Series
Join at Pullen Park to listen to the sounds of GrassStreet during this Summer Concert Series. Local favorites return to the Waverly Place’s one-acre park and stage area. Movies in the Garden 18′
Join at the Stephenson Amphitheatre next to the Raleigh Rose Garden this summer for five outdoor movies on Thursdays in July & August! Movies are rated G, PG and PG-13 and concessions, including cold adult beverages provided by Raleigh Brewing, will be available for purchase. Food trucks will be at each show. There will also be a Dog Zone provided by Unleashed, the Dog and Cat Store. Bring cushions, blankets, and chairs. Please, no outside alcohol, as this is a city park.
