Festival for the Eno
The Festival’s for the Eno is dedicated to the preservation and presentation of rich and varied cultures and offers plenty of hands on learning opportunities. You can throw a pot on a clay wheel, watch a water powered grist mill grinding corn, participate in urban farming, kayaking, weaving, and clean energy demos, or participate in an old time or ukulele jam at the High Strung workshop stage. Their Mission is to create a vibrant, thriving farmers market in the heart of Midtown Raleigh, where you can buy local, family-farmed foods, grown in a manner that sustains the land and our health. Their market is dedicated to providing the community access to healthful food options, and educational opportunities to learn about sustainable farming methods and food systems. The Bodyguard Movie Party
One of my most favorite movies is this 1992 romantic thriller, which paired Kevin Costner with the reigning queen of R&B, Whitney Houston. With a stunning soundtrack featuring Houston’s incredible voice and amazing chemistry between Costner and Houston, head to Alamo Draft House to enjoy this cult classic. Summerfest: Romantic Russian Nights with the North Carolina Symphony
Twenty-year-old piano virtuoso, Daniel Hsu, joins the Symphony to perform Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto. There will also be Russian dance music by Borodin and selections from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. First Friday Gallery Walk in Raleigh
The first Friday of every month, Downtown Raleigh showcases its art, music and food during its First Friday Gallery Walk. This self-guided tour is a chance to visit art galleries, studios, alternative art venues and more. Museums stay open late on the first Friday of the month. Live music is plentiful and many restaurants and retailers offer specials. Look for the First Friday flags to identify participating venues. First Friday Market at The Morning Times
The coffee shop that serves coffee from locally roasted beans from Counter Culture, omelettes made with local and hormone-free eggs, and house made bagels, will stays open until 11 pm.
